Chris J. Coulson
Chris Coulson is a patent attorney with experience in dispute resolution, licensing and transactional matters. Chris assists clients in resolving all manner of disputes, including Hatch-Waxman litigation, patent infringement litigation, proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, complex commercial litigation, and mediation. Chris has first-chaired numerous inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Chris’s pro bono work includes a direct appeal of a criminal conviction before the United States Circuit Court of Appeal for the Seventh Circuit and a mortgage rescue fraud litigation in state court.
In his free time, Chris is an Ultimate Frisbee fan and enjoys watching the New York Empire near his home in Westchester, NY. Chris also enjoys biking and paddle boarding with his daughters.

Noven Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Novartis AG, et al. (D. Del.; Fed. Cir.). Represented generic side in Hatch-Waxman litigation regarding Rivastigmine and in resulting appeal before the Federal Circuit.

In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig “Deepwater Horizon” in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010 (E.D. La.). Represented BP in various capacities in this complex commercial litigation.
United States v. Turner (7th Cir.). Obtained a new trial for pro bono client in a direct criminal appeal.
Motel v. Ideal Solutions (Cook County Chancery Court). Obtained a judgment of over $280,000, including $250,000 in punitive damages, on behalf of victims of mortgage rescue fraud.
