For nearly fifteen years, Benjamin Singer built and led Singer LLP, a San Francisco Bay Area IP litigation boutique that earned a firm-level Chambers USA ranking. In 2026, Singer LLP merged with Bunsow De Mory, the result of a close, years-long relationship between the two firms.

Benjamin left aerospace engineering 25 years ago, having decided that being on his feet in court would be more fun. Since founding his own firm, he has served as lead counsel in more than 75 patent and trade secret cases. Sources interviewed by Chambers say he is “an incisive trial lawyer” who “displays an agility in his work, with the ability to master the most intricate technical details of his cases and develop and present broad, winning trial themes,” and cite his “rare combination of instinct, intelligence, leadership and technical aptitude.”

Benjamin’s clients say they “trust him” because he commits to their problems as if “they were his own.”At the urging of his favorite law school professor, Benjamin began his career at Fish & Neave (now Ropes & Gray) in Manhattan, where as a first-year associate he second-chaired an arbitral hearing involving optical MEMS. When a group of partners left to open Quinn Emanuel’s New York office, he accepted an invitation to join them. There, when he wasn’t reviewing MEBES data at mask houses in Taiwan or deposing software engineers at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, he was learning from some of the preeminent trial lawyers of the modern era on teams that tried infringement claims to district court juries and at the ITC. That training became the foundation for everything that followed.
