Jerry Tice is a trial lawyer with a focus on complex patent infringement litigation. Jerry’s practice involves a diverse range of technologies, including telecommunication systems, wireless networking, GPS technology, display hardware and software, power circuitry, video encoding, computer hardware and software, semiconductor technology, and mechanical arts. 

Jerry has substantial experience litigating cases in federal district courts throughout the country, including the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, and the District of Delaware. He also has experience representing clients in patent infringement cases before the International Trade Commission (ITC). As a registered patent attorney, Jerry is also experienced in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and has prosecuted patents before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).

Representative Matters

Relink US LLC v. Tesla, Inc.: Represent Relink in both IPR and district court proceedings in connection with Relink’s infringement claims against Tesla’s Powerwall systems. Relink successfully defeated Tesla’s IPR petition at the institution stage. District court matter remains pending.

Identitii Ltd. v. JP Morgan Chase: Represent Identitii in both IPR and district court proceedings in connection with Identitii’s assertion of a blockchain-related patents against JP Morgan Chase. Identitii successfully defeated both of Chase’s IPR petitions at the institution stage. District court matter remains pending.

Dell Technologies Inc. v. VideoLabs, Inc.: Represented VideoLabs in both IPR and district court proceedings in connection with VideoLabs’ assertion of three video coding-related patents against Dell. VideoLabs successfully defeated all of Dell’s IPR petitions at the institution stage. In the district court, the case settled after the conclusion of pretrial briefing.

Google LLC. v. Express Mobile, Inc.: Represented Express Mobile in defending IPR petitions for three web development patents. Secured win at the institution stage with each petition being denied on the merits.

Garrity Power Services v. Samsung: Managed infringement and validity aspects of patent case involving wireless power electronics on behalf of Garrity Power Services. The case settled on the eve of trial.

Vista Peak Ventures, LLC: Managed technical aspect of litigation campaign involving display patents. Asserted a dozen total patents against some of the world’s largest display manufacturers. All cases settled.

Certain Solid State Storage Drives, Stacked Electronics Components, and Products Containing Same: Represented Complainant in an ITC investigation asserting memory patents against Samsung and SK Hynix. Case settled on the eve of the evidentiary hearing.

Cellular Communications Equipment LLC: Represented CCE in asserting cellular technology patents against several leading cellular handset manufacturers. All cases settled.
