On November 12, 2020, Bunsow De Mory partner Jennifer Gilbert spoke to the Chinese American Lawyers of the Bay Area (CALOBA) on “Legal Job Search in a Pandemic,” a topic of high relevance in the midst of the raging Covid-19 pandemic. Ms. Gilbert provided insights on key factors affecting one’s candidacy, tips to gaining more visibility in a job search, and ways to maintain morale.
In addition to Ms. Gilbert, the following panelists also presented at the virtual event:
- Lina Guo, director at Major Lindsey, & Africa’s San Francisco and Palo Alto offices, provided data about in-house hiring trends, and the changing landscape in light of the Covid-19 pandemic;
- Alex Nie, partner at Sheppard Mullin’s Palo Alto office, provided information on current law firm hiring trends and practices; and
- Lawrence Kong, senior patent counsel at Amgen, moderated the presentation.
Ms. Gilbert is a member of the executive team of CALOBA. CALOBA is a non-profit, professional organization whose purpose is to facilitate mutual understanding and dialog of U.S. and Chinese laws between the legal professionals of two countries. CALOBA aims to develop the careers of attorneys and law students and increase influence in the legal communities in both the US and China.
